bosnia

BOSNIA are a blackended doom crust trio from Denver, Colorado, formed by Steve Zahren (drums), Adam Wheeler (bass) and Morgan Carpenter (guitar and vocals) in mid-2005. Brutal, grinding filth and downtuned terror with an epic, atmospheric deviance, a deathly nod to black metal aesthetics and driven by themes of leftist politics, the occult, conspiracy theory and paranoia. Their crushing menace led them to share the stage with High On Fire, Tragedy, Kylesa, Gaza, Indian, Facedowninshit, Wolves In The Throneroom, Goatwhore and many more throught BOSNIA's short lifespan.

In mid 2008, they recorded their debut album "Nazarene Hallucinations", which was engineered by Ben Romsdahl (of Clinging To The Trees Of A Forest Fire) and released on Paradigms Recordings in the Spring of 2009. It included four colossal new songs, plus a cover of His Hero Is Gone's "The End Result Of Eleven Months In The Mental Hospital".

Currently spread between the states of California, Colorado and Orgeon (where Adam now plays in Portland's Burials), the future of Bosnia looks uncertain, however "Nazarene Hallucinations" is a fitting epitaph to a vital band. Glorious heaviness for appreciators of His Hero Is Gone, Kylesa and the like.
